Yvette Garcia Gago
"La Sole de Sanlúcar" |
Born in Rota, grew up in Sanlúcar de Bda.-Cadiz, Spain.
Moved to California in 1985, but returns each year to study flamenco
and perform in different cities of Andalucia. Studied flamenco with master
instructors from Spain. Performances in Spain include:
Noches de Bajo-Guia, Teatro Municipal, Palacio de la Infanta and La Merced
Auditorium in Sanlúcar. La Feria de Cadiz and “Andalucia Hoy” for Canal Sur
Television. Local California performances include: annual appearances
on Univision TV., Ritmo Latino Music Awards, N.O.H.O Theater & Arts
Festival, tablaos & restaurants. Sole, teaches Flamenco & Belly Dance
at Cal-Poly University and in March 2002 opened her own Performing Arts
Studio, the “International Arts Academy”, teaching flamenco & other world
dances. In the year 2000 established “A Nuestro Aire” and a children’s dance
company that performs throughout Southern California at various events for
groups like, La Peña Andaluza, Sociedad Flamenco Cultural, Casa De España,
San Juan Capistrano Mission, L.A & O.C Fairs, and television appearances.
“La Sole” serves as community youth director & cultural adviser of the Peña
Andaluza a non-profit group that promotes the culture of Andalucia, Spain in
California and is recognized by the government of Spain. “La Sole” is also a
sought after choreographer and flamenco singer in California.

Shari Bonnin |
A professional
modern dancer who performed and trained in New York and other cities. Began
her flamenco studies in Fontana and soon began studying with "La Sole" in
2000. Became a member of A Nuestro Aire in 2001 and has performed at
numerous events and festivals for the local Spanish Clubs, Peñas and
organizations and its affiliates. Flamenco Tabalos include: Spain, Utopia,
Bocata, Cafe Sevilla & Cafe Med. Festivals include: NOHO, City of Covina
annual festivities, L.A. and Orange County Fairs, San Juan Capistrano
mission, Ferias and educational programs for area schools. Television
appearances for Primer Edicion and local cable access networks. Mrs.
Bonnin is a mother of 2 and also a gifted jewelry and bead expert, she
handcrafts many of her own jewelry and accessories for flamenco she can be
seen on DIY network making Gipsy jewels. |

Jessica Murcia |
Began her flamenco
studies with Yvette Garcia "La Sole" and became a member of Nuestro
Aire in 2002. Has performed at numerous venues through out Southern
California including Spanish Fairs & Festivals for organizations such as La
Peña Andaluza of California, La Casa De España in Whittier, Sociedad
Flamenco Cultural of San Diego and for the Spanish Consulate of Los Angeles.
Benefit performances include annual appearances at the San Juan Capistrano
Mission, NOHO Arts Festival in North Hollywood, the Los Angeles County Fair
in Pomona, the Orange County Fair and community events for the Boys &
Girls Club of Pomona. Local city events include the Los Angeles Cathedral
for the Dia de Pilar celebration, and the City of Covina Downtown Orange
Blossom Festival. Regular flamenco venues include Spain Restaurant in Los
Angeles, Cafe Sevilla of Carlsbad and Utopia Restaurant in Long Beach. |

Raquel Laguna |
Began studying
flamenco with Yvette Garcia "La Sole" and joined a Nuestro Aire in 2002. Has
since performed at various venues through out Southern California including
Spanish Fairs and Festivals for La Peña Andaluza of California, La Casa De
España in Whittier, Sociedad Flamenco Cultural of San Diego and for the
Spanish Consulate of Los Angeles. Benefit performances include annual
appearances at the NOHO Arts Festival in North Hollywood, San Juan
Capistrano Mission, the Los Angeles County Fair in Pomona, the Orange County
Fair and specialty events for the Boys & Girls Club of Pomona. Local city
events include the Los Angeles 223rd Birthday extravaganza at Plaza Olvera

 Kathy Schwengel |
Has been dancing
flamenco for several years, 3 years with Yvette Garcia "La Sole" and other
local instructors. Continues to Study flamenco and will be traveling to
Spain to continue her studies in 2005. Joined A Nuestro Aire in 2002. Has
performed in venues throughout Southern California including festivals for
the local Spanish Organizations, Community festivals, educational
performances at Schools and Universities and private functions. |

Georgina Manzanares |
A professional
accordion player and talented flamenco and classical Spanish dancer. Working
on her degree from Cal Poly Pomona University. Miss Manzanares has been a
member of A Nuestro Aire since 2002. Has performed at Spain Restaurant,
NOHO, Peña Andaluza and Sociedad Flamenco events, San Juan Capistrano
Mission, Cafe Sevilla of Carlsbad, Bocata Restaurant, Utopia as well as
other local festivals including L.A. & O.C. Fairs and various other flamenco
venues in Southern California. Has also participated in benefit performances
such as the Boys & Girls club of Pomona, St. Francis of Rome Church,
Church of Latter day Saints in Azusa, Educational performances at local
schools and universities including Cal-Tech alumni award dinner in Palm
Springs. Georgina is often a substitute instructor for La Sole's Castanet &
Classical Spanish dance class.

Trisha Moreno |
Has been studying
Flamenco since the age 10. Has also danced Samba, classical Spanish and Afro Peruvian Festejo. Has
taken workshops with master teachers such as Antonio Vargas at "La Sole's"
studio the International Arts Academy. Began Studying Flamenco with Yvette
Garcia "La Sole" in 2000 and joined A Nuestro Aire in 2001. Has performed
extensively through out California. Festival performances include: La Peña
Andaluza of California, La Casa De España, Sociedad Flamenco
Cultural of San Diego annual appearances at the NOHO Arts Festival in North
Hollywood, San Juan Capistrano Mission, the Los Angeles County Fair in
Pomona, the Orange County Fair. Local city events include the Los Angeles
Cathedral for the Dia de Pilar celebration. Television appearances
include Univision Primera Edicion - Spanish Fair in studio special.
Regular flamenco tablao venues include: Spain Restaurant in Los Angeles,
Utopia Restaurant in Long Beach and Cafe Sevilla of Carlsbad. Trisha visited
Spain in the summer of 2004 with her teacher and friend Yvette "La Sole"
where she studied flamenco with top professionals like Carmen Cortes in
Sanlúcar and Mercedes Ruiz in Jerez, receiving certificates of completion in
each course. She participated nightly in typical
Flamenco Juerga settings with top name international guitarists & singers and was encouraged on a nightly basis to get up and improvise
some dancing "por bulerias" and "tangos", which she executed
quite well & received a great response from the audience. Performed one
night as a member of the workshop class in the bodega "La Cigarrera" in
Sanlúcar, Spain. |

Jennifer Barrios |
Is of Spanish
decent. Travels to Spain annually & studies in Madrid's Amor de Dios
Studio. Joined A Nuestro Aire in 2001 & began studying with La Sole that
same year. Moved to San Diego for 2 years to finish her graduate studies
while there, attended workshops with La
Sole or would commute to L.A. to attend classes. Has performed at Cafe
Sevilla, Bocata, Cafe Med, Primera Edicion Television, NOHO festival, Peña
Andaluza Events and Ferias for Sociedad Cultural Flamenco, San Juan
Capistrano Mission and other festivals, performed for several month with A
Nuestro Aire affiliate modern pop/rock flamenco group Sangre Gitana at local
night clubs, and the L.A. sports Arena for mother's day. L.A. & O.C fairs
for over 3 years and private events with La Sole Flamenco. |

Lisa Beltran |
Began studying Ballet Folklorico at the
age of seven. In 1998 co-founded "Ballet Folklorico Orgullo De Mexico".
Performed with well-know Mariachi such as, Mariachi Sol De Mexico under the
direction of Jose Hernandez. In 2000-2002, was a resident Folklorico dancer
of Plaza Garibaldi. In 2003 performed at The Dutchess County Fair, New York.
This past year traveled to Utah as guest dancers in International Folk
Festival. Began studying Flamenco under the direction of La Sole in 2004.
Currently working on a new project, Obra Flamenca Blanco Y Negro , under the
direction of La Sole coming summer 2005. |

Colletta Cole |
Has been dancing
Flamenco with "La Sole" since 2001. Studied flamenco for a few quarters at
Cal Poly Pomona and joined Yvette at her studio soon after. Has performed in
2 student recitals and with A Nuestro Aire at Cafe Sevilla Carlsbad. Is one
of the newest members of A Nuestro Aire. Is also a part of the new "Obra
Flamenca" project for summer 2005. Plans to travel to Spain in 2005 and have
the opportunity to study and see flamenco in its authentic setting. |

Meena Cherian |
Born & raised in
Southern California. Is of Spanish & East Indian decent. Has danced since
age 7. Choreographed drill team & cheer routines for elementary &
junior high as well as musicals in high school. Began formal dance training
in 1997 with Ballet de Corazon, in Torrance, studying flamenco and
was a member of Babylon Mood Belly dance troupe from 1999-2002.
Began studying flamenco with "La Sole" in 1998 & Joined A Nuestro
Aire in 2000. Performing in street fairs, area tablaos/restaurants
throughout Southern California, special events such as school lectures,
television appearances and Mother's Day concert at the L.A. Sports Arena.
Meena is a regular substitute instructor at International Arts Academy for
"La Sole's" classes. |
